We are endeavoring to present the camps in a timeline in order to better display the efforts of each group and to ensure no one group has further to travel to the marquee or tavern. Please refer to the site maps to see our plans. When we have a better idea of numbers a member of the committee will contact your groups nominated representative to determine your space requirements.
Site ConstraintsThe site owner has strict guidelines regarding the building of fires. He has agreed to allow us a fire in camps for COOKING, as long as it is built in accordance with the following rules:i) A sheet of steel must be placed on the ground where the fire is to be lit ii) The iron is to be covered fully with sand iii) When lit the fire MUST be contained on the sand bed iv) Fires MUST NOT be within 5m of tents in the campsite Note well that these guidelines are not negotiable. The owner is strict on this matter. On the positive side, the conference committee will supply both sheet metal and sand for all period encampments requiring a cooking fire. Also, there is a HUGE communal fire for everybody to share, with all wood provided, just a very short stroll from the marquee, tavern and all campsites. Please click the images below for details of how cooking fire's are to be built.
